Starcraft 2 units: Welcome lil' Thorrie

I read some recent comments about patch 12. Seems that Zergs are pretty upset about roaches gets twice as hungry. They get nothing instead.

Now lets see Thor. I would like to write about Thor as I am Terran player.

# Radius decreased from 1.375 to 0.8125.
# Model size reduced to match new radius.

It is kind of interesting that something property unit is "decreased" but actually it is in favor of it. Mostly, decreasing of any timing is advantage, either building, cooling down, charging etc. But for Thor - size is something that he realy needs to be nerfed.
Thors enormous size doesn't affect its strength. Unit is defined by numbers, and a game interacts with numbers. So it may look that decreased size is not so important but it is.

Big Thors were clumsy. Big Thors covered players sight over other small units. Big Thors need more space to move, and were often choked at narrow paths. Group of big Thors takes "forever" to get in place constantly being in a way to each other and to other units in combined group. This causes crucial delay in situations when seconds decide the combat result. Group of Thors alone were ineffective in small fields unable to spread and attack at once, especially when entering the enemy base. Big thors with big radius were surrounded by many small units and be killed fast.

As Terran I like recent change. Thors are still huge comparing to other units but now they are more effective.
I see three major advantages that Thor gets with decreased size:

1. Manouverability increased - Group of thors now take less space in your base, they are less in the way, and they can be deployed faster to critical points even their speed is the same. Now they don't spend so much time wondering arround in searching for free path to move and choking each other. They will now change positions faster.

2. Attack efficiency increased - Depending on the size of the field, Thors were pretty clumsy in larger groups. When first few Thors spreads to attack, others would just nervously move behind them unable to take their attack position. You can bring nine of them to defend entrance in Kulas Ravine but only three will be effective, while others will need to wait for their fellows to die first. Common tactics of prottos against zeglings is to leave narrow hole on entrance and put zealot there, forcing lings to enter one by one. As lings easily die one by one, so Thors die if advancing two by two against the forces that can compare to them in strength. Now, with smaller model, they can better spread and fire at the same time. This will be usefull.

3. Vulnerability somehow decreased - Zerglings, zealots and few other units are most effective when they can surround its target. Decreased radius of thor means that less of those bugs will be able to surround them, and they will take less damage in unit of time. I cant say the numbers. Hope someone will analyze that more precisely. Aproximately, large Thor can be surronded by 20 lings, but smaller one will now be surrounded with 15.

Conclusion is that Thor will now be more usefull for Terrans, deployed faster, with better group attack and less vulnerable to enemy lethal surroundings.

I am not pro, just noob, and I understand that pros will make Thor testing exceptional at his full power. At my noobish level and playing style, I think new Thorrie may help me to fight better. Still ned to try this in practice.
